Chani Turner
I am an acupuncturist and a registered midwife practising in Poole, Dorset. I practise the integrated approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Elements Constitutional Acupuncture.
I am Chinese and started my career as a registered nurse in Poole Hospital in 1971. In 1988, I trained as a registered midwife. From 1992 to 2005, I worked as a community midwife in the Wimborne area. Nowadays, I work part time as a midwife in St Mary’s Maternity Unit, Poole.
In November 2002, I started a three and a half year degree course at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, Reading and qualified with a First Class BSc (Honours) Degree in Acupuncture in May 2006.
As a midwife and acupuncturist, my acupuncture clinic serves pregnant women as well as male and female patients with a wide spectrum of conditions and illnesses.
The holistic approach of Traditional Chinese Medicine is based on the Yin / Yang system of healing and focuses on the symptoms of your illness, whilst Five Elements Constitutional Acupuncture centres on the nature of the person suffering from the illness. In this way, treatment is aimed at the root of your condition as well as your symptoms.
I am a member of The British Acupuncture Council and The Acupuncture Fertility Network (AFN).
I also practise as a midwife acupuncturist at the Nine Springs Natural Health Centre, Yeovil.
